At any one time or another, you are likely to be doing a concrete leveling job at home; the availability of tools will make a great difference at any such project. You may also want to do such projects on anything such as a foundation or a patio, when that is the case, it is always important to ensure that the work is done perfectly and the surface ends up flat. It is or this reason that there are different concrete leveling tools that are required for a perfect job and they include:
Shovels: A shovel may be a simple tool but it is an extremely important tool for any form of concrete work. Most people are familiar with the round point shovel which is used for doffing up most of the time. You must have also come across the square point and the garden spade. The square point is normally used to move dirt from one point to another especially on bare surfaces while the garden spade can be sued especially for cutting sod. In concrete works, shovels are normally used for preparing surfaces where you plan to lay the concrete while other people can use them to actually move the prepared concrete.
Bull Float: The bull float serves two purposes namely leveling as well as condensing concrete that has been poured. This is a flat piece of wood that is rectangular in shape and comes with a long handle. The handle is normally of a certain length such that you can actually use it from a short distance away. The leveling and condensing is normally done by pulling and pushing the float over the concrete that has been poured on the said surface. Floats come in different sizes since there are different concrete sizes.
Rubber and magnesium floats: These can be compared to the wooden type of floats only that they are much smaller and held by hand. The magnesium float has been specifically designed to work with highly aerate concrete while the rubber variant is used to level the surface as well as finish grouts and fillers.
Steel trowel: This is a large tool and is mainly used when working on large concrete surfaces. This one is mainly used to compress areas that are high while lifting the ones that are low. The trowel does this because it can easily release any moisture or air that has been trapped downwards.
Screed: In concrete leveling projects a screed is basically a tool and is used to flatten all uncured surfaces. It is used to flatten out such that when it is pushed down it makes the concrete denser and more durable by releasing all entrapped air which is known to be responsible for weaknesses on concrete surfaces.
